Placement Season -1 !

Generally in IITB, placement season starts on Dec 1 and till Jan 15 everybody is placed ...
but this year is different. Till date only 25 % students are placed and there is a very remote possibility that the numbers will go to 100 %. Thanks to the global meltdown and financial crisis and bla bla bla. No wonder, there is only ONE topic for discussion for almost everybody in the campus !!
Now coming to my department, last year we had 100 % placements..And this time only 1 is placed from eligible 18, till today. Everybody is getting restless, frustrated and even depressed. Initially people wanted to go for bigshot companies and now eventually people from our class are literally running after everything..software, finance and infrastructure too :)
Many of my friends have in very negative mode already. And this i can't understand. What would anybody do if out of 150 companies that have visited, only 4-5 were Core and open for MTechs. But as days are passing by, it is becoming more and more interesting to see this :)
P.S. our HOD told in a class meeting that Energy sector is growing at whopping 25 % (hiihihhih)
